    • 7/29/12: Mugglenet finally came back to life, and posted a new essay of mine... albeit one written several weeks ago. It celebrates five years since the release of Deathly Hallows with a thorough look at the fandom, and what has changed in the last five years. Fandom Five Years Later

    • 7/25/12: In case you couldn't tell by my choice of songs to filk, I'm a huge fan of Broadway musicals. I therefore wrote a column for Hypable about my favorite relatively obscure Broadway soundtracks from the last five years. Top 5 Obscure Broadway Soundtracks

    • 7/20/12: I'm on a roll with filks, though today's is as different from the preceding two as possible. I filk the Disney classic from Lion King, "Hakuna Matata," into "Expelliarmus" - a silly ditty set during the DA's first meeting. Expelliarmus!

    • 7/18/12: Something completely new in the filk section today! I did two different filks of the same song, P!nk's "Who Knew." One is canon-compliant, about Sirius lamenting James's death and vowing revenge on Pettigrew. The other is my first fanon filk, set in the universe of my friend Julia Benjamin's fanfiction "Draco Malfoy and the Goblet of Fire," where Draco and Cedric become friends during Goblet of Fire. This fic is about Draco lamenting Cedric's death and vowing revenge on Harry. Although it's the same song and same basic premise, these two filks are entirely different (I don't think there's a single line in common) because of the different perspectives. Canon version: For James Fanon version: I Miss You

    • 7/17/12: Gosh, I can't believe there's been a month-long lull in updates! I blame Mugglenet, they have four or five of my essays in their inbox and have not posted any in a while. Interestingly enough, I've found some popularity on Goodreads lately, talking about other books. My review for The Low Road by Daniel Kirk has been quoted on the main fansite for the series here: http://boytamber.wix.com/elfrealm#!blog And my review of The Enchantress really took off, getting a bunch of likes, and is now the fourth review seen on the page (I think it was second at one point). http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/358438415 Since I do pride myself on my reviewing, both of these were a pleasant surprise!
