Zǐ Dì Chéngtāng (子帝成汤), First Emperor of Shang, born Zǐ Tiānyǐ (子天乙). He was the Fourteenth Duke of Shang, and led a successful revolt against Jié the tyrannical Seventeenth Emperor of Xia. After this he became Emperor of the Shang or Yin Dynasty and made his capital at Bò. He issued many edicts and ruled wisely with the aid of his Prime Minster, Yī Yǐn. He married a lady of the Yǒushēn Clan. He had issue:

Zǐ Dì Tàidīng (子帝太丁), who was his father’s heir, but died before he could be enthroned. He had issue:
- a) Zǐ Dì Tàijiǎ, Fourth Emperor of Shang (see below).
2) Zǐ Dì Wàibǐng (子帝外丙), Second Emperor of Shang (see below).
3) Zǐ Dì Zhōngrén (子帝仲壬), Third Emperor of Shang (see below).

Zǐ Dì Wàibǐng (子帝外丙), Second Emperor of Shang. He ruled for only two or three years before dying.

Zǐ Dì Zhōngrén (子帝仲壬), Third Emperor of Shang. He ruled for four years before dying.

Zǐ Dì Tàijiǎ (子帝太甲), Fourth Emperor of Shang, also called Tàizōng. He was appointed Emperor after the short reigns of his uncles. He proved indolent and cruel, leading the Prime Minister to exile him to Tong Palace. He repented and when he eventually returned to power it was as a virtuous ruler. He had issue:

1) Zǐ Dì Wòdīng (子帝沃丁), Fifth Emperor of Shang (see below)
2) Zǐ Dì Tàigēng (子帝太庚), Sixth Emperor of Shang (see below)

Zǐ Dì Wòdīng (子帝沃丁), Fifth Emperor of Shang. In his reign the sage Prime Minister, Prime Mnister, Yī Yǐn, died.

Zǐ Dì Tàigēng (子帝太庚), Sixth Emperor of Shang. He had issue:

1) Zǐ Dì Xiǎojiǎ (子帝小甲), Seventh Emperor of Shang (see below).
2) Zǐ Dì Yōngjǐ (子帝雍己), Eighth Emperor of Shang (see below).
3) Zǐ Dì Tàiwù (子帝太戊), Ninth Emperor of Shang (see below).

Zǐ Dì Xiǎojiǎ (子帝小甲), Seventh Emperor of Shang.

Zǐ Dì Yōngjǐ (子帝雍己), Eighth Emperor of Shang. He was weak and lost control of some of the nobles.

Zǐ Dì Tàiwù (子帝太戊), Ninth Emperor of Shang, also called Zhōngzōng (中宗). He was frightened by a bad omen and therefore cultivated great virtue and thereby restored Shang power. After his reign, however, there was strife among his children, leading to nine generations of civil war. He had issue:

1) Zǐ Dì Zhōngdīng (子帝中丁), Tenth Emperor of Shang (see below)
2) Zǐ Dì Wàirén (子帝外壬), Eleventh Emperor of Shang (see below)
3) Zǐ Dì Hédǎnjiǎ (子帝河亶甲), Twelfth Emperor of Shang (see below)

Zǐ Dì Zhōngdīng (子帝中丁), Tenth Emperor of Shang. He moved the capital to Áo.

Zǐ Dì Wàirén (子帝外壬), Eleventh Emperor of Shang.

Zǐ Dì Hédǎnjiǎ (子帝河亶甲), Twelfth Emperor of Shang. He was a poor ruler and moved the capital to Xiang. He had issue:

1) Zǐ Dì Zǔyǐ (子帝祖乙), Thirteenth Emperor of Shang (see below).

Zǐ Dì Zǔyǐ (子帝祖乙), Thirteenth Emperor of Shang. He restored Shang power and moved the capital to Xíng. He had issue:

1) Zǐ Dì Zǔxīn (子帝祖辛), Fourteenth Emperor of Shang (see below)

Zǐ Dì Zǔxīn (子帝祖辛), Fourteenth Emperor of Shang. He had issue:

1) Zǐ Zǔxīn (子祖辛) (apparently distinct from his father of the same name). He had issue:
- a) Zǐ Dì Zǔdīng (子帝祖丁), Sixteenth Emperor of Shang (see below).
2) Zǐ Dì Wòjiǎ (子帝沃甲), Fifteenth Emperor of Shang (see below).

Zǐ Dì Wòjiǎ (子帝沃甲), Fifteenth Emperor of Shang. He had issue:

1) Zǐ Dì Nángēng (子帝南庚), Seventeenth Emperor of Shang (see below)
