I grew up on a small farm. My momma was as excellent cook. I did not see her with a cookbook for the recipes were in her head. She cooked delicious food which we grew in the garden and meat from our pigs, beef cattle and chickens. A lot of the meals were one dish. a pot of string beans aka snaps, potatoes and a ham bone, some type of hot bread, rolls, biscuits or cornbread. She did a lot of things with cornmeal making a lot of wonderful breads. The sad thing is many of the wonderful meals she prepared went to her grave with her. I have spent a lot of time trying to develop some of the recipes and many hours in cookbooks looking for similar recipes. Along the way, I found many wonderful dishes which I prepare.

Because I am always looking for some of the things I remember as a child, I give all the credit to my momma. She has challenged me to preserve what I know so others will not be as lost as I was. My collection of cookbooks and recipes is meaningful to me. I have always wanted to share with family, friends and lots of people who would like a good recipe. I do not want my collection to go with me, I wish to leave it for others to share.

HAVE A WONDERFUL TIME IN YOUR KITCHEN COOKING MEMORIES FOR THOSE YOU LOVE.
