The Big Data eCourse I co‑developed for Laudius teaches students the fundamentals of Big Data, the legal and regulatory framework (ethiek, wetgeving & privacy) surrounding its use, and how Statistics and Excel support BigData research. The eCourse consists of seven lessons and can be completed with an optional exam. Taking the exam is not required to finish the course.
Students in the Big Data eCourse complete eleven assignments in total: seven lesson‑based tasks and four practical case studies. Those who finish all assignments and achieve an average grade of 5.5 or higher qualify for a Laudius certificate (getuigschrift van Laudius).
Students who have submitted and passed all Big Data assignments are invited to take the open‑book Big Data exam (Not mandatory). The exam is completed at home, and students may use all course materials while working through it. A final grade of 5.5 or higher qualifies the student for a Laudius Big Data Diploma. Students may also travel to Blerick (Venlo) to review their completed exam (examen inzien).
