- The day started so quiet and blissfully... In fact not much happened today! I left my home as I always do...
A very old picture of a beloved wife hangs a bit loosely near the edge of the key-holder on the way out of the house. As the exit door opens it creaks with every weight of pain of the years that it has on it. The lone owner carefully closes the door as if not to crack it anywhere.
The path to work slides fast enough through the 78 year old husband's feet in the old classic Cadillac of his late wife.
As the first to arrive he is responsible to clean-sweep the entrance and check for irregularities. Nothing was out of place or missing so that old body dragged himself with the nowadays weak legs to the chair near the exit contemplating the outside looking forward for the first arrivals.
His wife would always magically guess when he sit for the first time in the day in that old chair by sending him a phone message telling him how much she loved him and making plan to take a stroll in the near park next Saturday. The chair of now horribly degraded and uncomfortable but it still reminds him of her and that makes it the best chair he could possibly want. The stains of strawberry pie, the stew with the hot sauce that he detested but loved... That sure was hot... All reclaimed a piece of that chair that he loves.
People going in and out, but not more than usual. In fact one could say that it was a bit too quiet even for a usual quiet day. Most likely, a lot of people are in they're vacation.
