History in the Making - Part 13

As we walked as fast as we could through out the devastating land, the sky started to darken fast and by the time we've arrived the meteor shower subsided.

The firefighters building looks mostly destroyed but with little effort, the bunker passage was found out in the back near a small clearing after a perky garden of well treated red tulips. I staggered as I noticed shying away in the corner of the garden, a little more than a handful of forget-me-not's. That sure brings out special memories of a time locked away in me...

I felt a light pat in the back as I woke from my trance followed by a heavy tear that fell into the ground as I took a deep breath.

- Everything will be ok, you'll see! - Said the unfamiliar soft voice.

As I turned, I clumsy clean my face from the tears that followed. It was then that I've noticed the new people. Talking to me was someone I've perceived as being something like a doctor due to her dress code. Standing right behind, was the old man babbling to his heart content to two fellas dressed as firefighters. Something's off.. One of them looks like a kid and other is missing an arm. Doesn't look like that's an injury from what's happening...

- Come on. Let's all go inside. It could still be dangerous here out in the open.

With not much to say I've opened my mouth to not utter a single sound... So I nodded and followed them inside the bunker.
