Quickly, I grabbed the nearest club and started to pivot his foot to get him loose. Finally, it got it loose and we were able to get away to a better place unharmed... Well, almost... I got lightly greased by some debris out of the impact just behind us as we took shelter in the remains of the nearest building. Grabbed the closest towel and water bottle and took care of that injury.
This sucker hurts but by all means we must keep going. Standing still increases the probability of getting hit by one of those things and though I always thought that I no longer got any strength or will to survive, I was still happy to naturally find that I still do.
As I contemplated the outside, the old man started his blabbering words of thankfulness. I wasn't really listening to him... In my mind I was trying to make some sense of what's happening. Looks more like where a good special effect big budget movie meets reality... That is not an explanation...
Soon, I realized the silence that arrived but not from outside.. The old man had passed out cold.
Breath looks normal... I don't see any serious injuries... But he did got stroke in the head earlier and that could have some serious problems in the future. Ok, just decided..
Priority one: find shelter
Priority two: find doctor
Priority three: find out what's happening
As I thought of it in more detail the man woke up.
I told him off my plan and he suggested the firefighters bunker. I'm embarrassed that I wasn't the one that suggested that. I've been working around here for quite some time now... Either way, it shouldn't be too far and it sounds like the best bet to be a safe place around here.
So with that in mind we stepped out...
