History in the Making - Part 7

At first I just stayed there stupefied with their irrational action and amazed that none of the rocks falling seems to be aiming at either of them. But I wasn't about to go through such danger so I screamed to them the location of the possible exit that I had found earlier to what they simply nodded.

With a new set of breath in the lungs I went to take a look in the room to the left and behind of it's slightly jammed door there was absolutely nothing left of the room. Because of that I've became fearfully of my future but holding on to whatever little hope and bravery I still had I took a look at the right room and this time amazingly enough it was impeccable. Aside from some object that fell into the ground it almost seems that the disaster that was happening outside had nothing to do with that room.

Snapping out of my amazed look and stop on my trail I crossed the room and the next one to it that was (all thing considered) in pretty good shape. And then finally the last corridor. I'm taking the longest route but maybe I can also escape the same way as I told the strangers...

The couple had already disappear maybe even exiting through the escape route so I planned the same started to run towards my goal but yet another replica equally weak like the last one but enough to throw me to the ground shook the building forcing it to make all kinds of crazy scary noises. But with the shakes I could still crawl to the door and that's what I did.

The door was just half way opened so no problem there but the floor was gone, again. I have to cross it just like I didn't want to before... As I start, I notice the couple from before splattered down below with some giant block of cement over then leaving only their heads and a hand outside.

I swallowed my disgust from that sight and crawl down slowly. The passage was still there and the van, although a little roughed by now was still usable as a way out.

Without anymore thinking I just leaped landing on top of the van, crawl down of it and started to run away from the building as fast as I could for big blocks of the building were tumbling down announcing the big event of rupture and total collapse that was coming.
