Background

This Lab seeks to continue to make the University of Shizuoka a central and contributing institution for society. This Lab will create benefits for various organizations and individuals in communities both locally and globally, and also give new (1st and 2nd year) students practical experience and expertise with research, communication, and entrepreneurship.

This Lab is a student-centered, intensive project-based-learning (PBL)-driven organization that conducts innovative research projects with all manner of game technologies (e.g., board games, card games, video games, educational games, sports, etc). 2nd year students lead novel projects with 1st year students.

Local organizations and businesses will be served by the Game Lab's activities; our goal is to improve the quality of life and economy in our community. As well, the student research assistants in the Lab will also gain important and practical academic, career and life skills that they will be able to build on in their job hunting and thesis research. Students will learn leadership and teamwork skills, communication skills (we will work in English, and present/publish our research in English), technology skills, and research skills (innovation, creativity and critical thinking). Students will go on to become leaders in society with knowledge and expertise of business, society and education.
