2013 2014 Childrens Hospital Project

We volunteered the 4th Saturday of the month (in the morning, when parents usually couldn't visit) at the Shizuoka Prefectural Childrens Hospital from 2013 to 2014.

We played lots of different board and card games.

We wanted to cheer kids up and take their minds off of their physical situation or loneliness.

We usually took these games to the hospital (we found that they worked very well for children of various ages with various injuries or health issues.

    • Labyrinth

    • Cocotaki

    • My First Orchard

    • Orchard

    • LEGO Champion

    • Cockroach Poker

    • My First Tier auf Teir

    • Tier auf Tier

    • Saboteur

    • Magic Labyrinth Card Game

    • City Hopping

    • Bim Bamm

    • Kids of Carcassonne

We also found some excellent card and tile trays to use with sick kids:

  • They really help kids with broken arms and IVs. They also help let kids see all their cards, and reduce wear and tear on the cards as well. These trays hold 32 cards (we've played Ticket to Ride very successfully using them!).

  • The cards sometimes fall forwards, so we might put a thick strip of tape on the front to help the cards lean back.
