Michael Marek

Michael Marek is an emeritus professor of Communication Arts at Wayne State College, Wayne, Nebraska, USA, having taught a wide range of media and communication courses. He continues to publish, with research interests focusing on the intersection of instructional technology, language learning, and meta-cultural communication. Dr. Marek was among the first scholars to publish quantitative research about the worldwide impact of COVID-19 restrictions on teaching and learning. He has highly cited SSCI journal research articles on topics including flipped teaching, English learning motivation, and CALL/MALL instructional design, making him among the most cited scholars affiliated with his institution. He is much in demand for journal peer reviews, serves on the editorial boards of scholarly journals, and has been on the program committees for multiple research conferences.
