teaching music in schools should be fun
that kids will want to have music in their lives

opportunity to mix music with other disciplines
What don’t you want to see…
no music class at all
basic music class consisting of a teacher and pre-planned songs
teacher directed
old music theory
only marching band
New Opportunities you would like to see…
to have more choices in choosing instrument
to see my child have the benefit of experiencing all that music has to offer

like to see incorporation of current music into lessons

Questions
Will D39C rely on foundation to find music?
How much % of curriculum time will be devoted to music?
How many music staff?
Band only as good as feeder program?
Is music going to go beyond instrumental teaching?
How does D39C intend to find those kids interested or skilled in music?
Deal Breakers
no music at all
no introduction to certain types
old ways of teaching, classic songs that kids don't want to sing, limited in instruments
I hope NOT to see one teacher teaching out of a book. Kids should be playing, moving, doing, and creating.
