Languages

At D39C, students have the opportunity to explore and learn world languages. Numerous studies have shown that the early study of a second language results in cognitive benefits, gains in academic achievement, and increases in the ability to listen, memory, creativity and critical thinking. World languages also help young students look at the world from different perspectives, opening doors to a global 21st century. Learning a world language at an earlier age can also a benefit later in life, as the work force has an increased demand for people who can speak multiple languages. This is true for a broad spectrum of job and careers.
