Engagement

Engagement is at the heart of everything we do at D39C. As students and teachers design learning experiences, we always focus on "is it engaging" first because if we are not engaged, we probably are not learning. Engagement does not mean that students are sitting in rows, remaining quiet, and "listening" to teachers. Rather, students and teachers will interact and collaborate in learning spaces which foster student choice, asking questions, using technology, working with peers, and connecting with the world around us. Engagement will be present in many different settings and will span across content areas. School should ALWAYS be engaging and exciting for ALL students and our hope is that ALL kids leave D39C with passion and a love for learning that will help them be successful in whatever they chose to do.
