Reading
At D39C students are engaged in reading for authentic purposes while being challenged to grow as readers. Instructional design focuses on the principles of student choice, voice, and literacy skills. Reading is integrated into all subject areas, instead of treated as a separate block of the school day. Paying attention to the interests and passions of our students, we foster a love of reading in every student. Literacy is part of everything we do in the real world and everything we do in school.
