KEY OBJECTIVES:
Reading this module and doing the students activities will enable the students :
To develop awareness about specific things being sold at specific shops.
To develop observation of areas surrounding students home and school.
To develop awareness about seasonal usage of products.
To develop awareness about the age factor in the usage of product.
To develop awareness about the specific place and their requirements of products.
ENTERPRISE CONCEPTS:
(Basic instruction regarding E.CONCEPTS to trainers: The trainer is requested to first read and follow the Basic instructions regarding Enterprise Concepts to trainers and proceed further thereafter. The trainer should ask a series of leading and thought provoking questions to elicit answers from the students. These answers are expected to make the students understand these E.Concepts in their own words that they recognize and know).
Definitions of the E. CONCEPTS of the module Market Survey
SURVEY: To examine for some specific purpose; inspect or consider carefully; review in detail.
MARKET: A gathering of people for buying and selling things.
MARKET RESEARCH : The study of the demands or needs of consumers in relation to particular goods or services.
SEASONAL PRODUCTS : The products which have characteristic features due to which they are sold or bought, depending on the season or seasons.
ENTERPRISE SKILLS:
(Basic instruction regarding E.SKILLS to trainers: The trainer is requested to first read and follow the Basic instructions regarding Enterprise Skills to trainers and proceed further thereafter).
The students activity is designed to clarify the CONCEPTS of the module and develop some ENTERPRISE SKILLS (E. Skills). The E.Skills included in a module may not be exhaustive but are only indicative. E.Skills stated in modules elsewhere may also get addressed through the activities of a module.:
OBSERVATION : Ability to observe the surrounding and the products sold at various places and time.
SURVEY: The ability to observe or inquire facts with specific needs and noting down systematically.
CRITICAL THINKING : The ability to observe the surrounding to decide what types of shops are missing in their surrounding.
STUDENTS ACTIVITY
Activity 1 : WHAT - WHERE
This activity is suggested to be completed by each child individually preferably at home. Students must be given the worksheets with proper instructions. A weeks time may be given to allow them to observe the surrounding and answer the questions. One period after a week may be allowed in groups to exchange informations. Each group must be called to say what types of shops are missing in their surrounding.

Activity 2 : WHAT - WHEN- WHO
The students may be allowed to answer the questions in groups. Different ideas presented by students must be rewarded with praise. Groups making largest list of products must be praised.
The teacher may ask some more questions pertaining to the special feature of their locality to create more interest and enthusiasm in class.
Instruction to Students:
Form groups same as suggested by teacher
Discuss the following questions in the group and write answers.
Take turns in the group at reading out answers.
