I'm interested in trying to go on a trip through Trawlerschoolcharters.com
Questions:
What about alcohol? Are we allowed to bring / drink our own?
What is the water temp during the times that we are looking at (possibly early November?)
Is the AC (and generator) run the full time?
Electronics equipment below:
GPS Chart plotter, Ray marine autopilot, Navionics Chartplotter on iPad, new 741 Garmin chartplotter on flybridge Jan 2017.
Priorities for "the next boat":
Walk around master bed (whether in aft suite, forward suite, or just a large V-berth with plenty of space for both to get out of bed independently while still having seating available in the main cabin).
Separate Shower from toilet in at least 1 head.
Ease of access to engines / generator
Storage! For clothes/food, as well as bumpers, life jackets, lines, etc.
Table and seating downstairs that is not sacrificed for the primary bed (see above).
Shouldn't wallow at slow speed (3-5mph).
Preferred: minimal stairs and no ladders
Required appliances:
Stove
AC/Heat
Genset, ideally with high amperage (2nd?) alternator for charging batteries,
Space for Grill
Minimal Cruising speed of 10-12mph
Nice to have:
Ice maker
Room for washer/dryer
Bow Thruster (ideally, possible stern thruster?)
Axius (Mercruiser) or similar steering
Ideally, one or two outboard engines for drive.
Possible sleeping space for 1-2 guests.
Still undecided on single engine trawler vs. twin engine cruiser.
Undecided long term on gas vs. diesel.
