consideration at the January meeting, proposals are due December 1st. All forms should be submitted to CURA

Please outline the proposal below, including any pertinent references to CURA documents. Include supporting

attachments, if necessary.

Each year CURA is responsible to pay a special organization fee to our NSO. The designation allows us to operate

under RCA’s insurance policy for the CURCs. As CURA does not hold a bank account, the source of this fee has

been paid by the previous hosting committee/school.

We are aware of more than one instance that this fee has gone unpaid due to confusion of responsibility. It is a responsibility that effects how we interact with our NSO and is needed in order to maintain CURA and associated championship. My proposal is to add the following to our playing regulations under ‘Fees’.

A Special organization fee billed by the NSO for CURA to be paid by the previous hosting committee typically in

May of the subsequent year.

For example, if UBC were to host in 2020, the fee due to our NSO by May 2021 would

be paid by UBC.

Hi Craig,

All good. I think this is a reasonable recommendation, and I don’t see any reason why not to include it,

seems like a solid idea that it is just paid by the previous host. I’m assuming the timing is based on when

RCA’s fiscal year turns over, so it would be done when an organization is going through the normal

declaration anyways.

If it helps, being on the playing reg’s committee, I could just put a reminder in my calendar for each April

to connect with the previous host to pay that fee so CURA can then also have a paper trail that a

reminder was sent in the event a university does not follow through.
