You will need two 1L jars, 2L pop bottle, cheese cloth, rubber band, measuring cup, 4 peeled potatoes, and 1/4 cup of honey.
First boil the potatoes in approx 2L of water until cooked (20 minutes) remove the potatoes (eat'em if you want). Add 2 cups of the potato/honey water to one of the jars. Add the 1/4 cup of honey to the 2L pop bottle then pour in the rest of the potato water, cap, shake, and store in the fridge. Cover the jar with the cheese cloth and secure with the rubber band. Leave the jar out in the open for 24 to 48 hours. You should see some stuff happening.
Now every day for the next five days, pour 1 cup of the potato/honey water into the empty jar (allow it to reach room temp, an hour should do). Once the hour is up, pour 1/2 of the liquid (1 cup) from the jar containing yeast into the new jar (throw out the remaining 1/2 and clean the jar to re-use the next day). This process will keep the yeast fed, and they will grow into usable yeast in 5 days. After 5 days store the yeast in the fridge, you can then feed the yeast once a week, by halving and adding a cup of potato/honey water.
Just add 1 cup to your brew, but don't forget to add back 1 cup of potato/honey water to feed your yeast.
