HEALTH MANAGEMENT

SPECIFIC LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the end of the program, the student must be able to:

1. Given individuals, families, and communities with or without health problems, determine

1.1 which ones are healthy and which ones are not (or have disease).

1.2 the general causes of health problems.

1.3 the factors that promote health and disease.

1.4 what diagnostic tools are usually used.

1.5 what treatment modalities are usually used.

1.6 the usual outcomes after treatment.

2. Given hypothetical and actual individuals, families, and communities, formulate a management plan, demonstrating skills in the application of the general steps in health management.

3. Manage health of self and own family by diagnosing the health status, then formulating a plan of treatment, if indicated, and health improvement and maintenance.

4. Discuss the concept of “Health for All”.

5. Discuss the concept of “Primary Health Care”.

6. Discuss the strategies of Health for All Movement of the World Health Organization.

7. Utilize the Health Sector Reform Agenda of the Philippines in the promotion of Health for All Filipinos Movement.

8. Utilize the National Objectives for Health of the Philippines in the promotion of Health for All Filipinos Movement.

9. Initiate and formulate a program of health for all or more Filipinos in the Region by the year 2030.

10. Demonstrate positive attitude in being a role model for health promotion.

11. Demonstrate skills in the following (how to study) learning methods or activities and professional skills:
