0005 - THE BRYANTS

We know for a fact that our Richard Braswell III married Elizabeth Bryant, daughter of James Bryant Sr and Elizabeth. We have the wills of James Bryant Sr (1731) and Richard Braswell III (1767), and in addition to this, Richard & Elizabeth named a son James, no doubt named after Elizabeth's father, James Bryant. We highly suspect that James Bryant Jr's wife Sarah is a Braswell, possibly the daughter of William Braswell and Mary Unknown. It is also believed that Robert Braswell's (d. 1736 Bertie) daughter Jane married a William Bryant, possibly the son of James Bryant Jr. The above mentioned William Braswell died in Chowan about 1721, the grandson of REV Robert Bracewell, through his son Richard and wife, Sarah. There are probably other connections we may never find, but I am going to gather and post Bryant records to this webpage in the hope that we might make additional discoveries.
