Jackson County} This Indenture made this eighteenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & two & in the 26th year of American independence between Adam Richey Lister of the State of South Carolina & district of Greenville, & Samuel Laughridge of the State of Georgia & County of Jackson Jointly and severally of the one part, & Samuel Braswell of the State of Georgia & County of Jackson of the other part Witnesseth that the above sd Adam R Lister & Samuel Laughridge for & in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars to them in hand well & truly to be paid by the above sd Samuel Braswell at & before the sealing & delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained & sold, released & confirmed, & by these presents do bargain, grant sell, release & confirm unto the above said Samuel Braswell his heirs & assigns all that tract or parcel of Land containing two hundred Acres be the same more or less, situate lying & being in the County of Jackson & State aforesaid, buting & bounding on the Apalache river on an ash Corner runing N45E8Chains to a Stake, thence N27W52Chains to a black Oak Corner thence N60W19Chains to an Oak corner thence S45W-47 {43} Chains to the Apalache, thence down the meanders of the said river to the beginning Ash corner, It being part of seven thousand three hundred Acres of Land granted to Bazel Jonson (?) on the twenty fourth day of May one thousand Eight hundred & eighty seven thence conveyed to Adam R Lister the twenty seventh day of June one thousand seven hundred & eighty seven, Together with all & singular the rights members & appurtenances thereof Remainders, Reversions, Rents Issues & Profits thereof whatsoever to said tract of land & premises as aforesaid unto the said Samuel Braswell his heirs & Assigns for ever to his & their only proper use benefit & behoof the aforesaid Adam R Lister & Samuel Laughridge for them selves their heirs & Assigns the aforesaid land & premises is as aforesaid unto sd. Samuel Braswell his heirs & Assigns for ever against them the said Lister & laughridge their heirs & assigns & against all other person or persons whomsoever shall & will warrant & for ever defend firmly & by these presents In Witness whereof the said Adam R Lister & Samuel Laughridge have hereunto set their hands and Seals day & date first above written
