Palak Daal


  • Step 1: Pressure Cook the dal until it is soft and mushy along (with /without Spinach)

  • Step 2: If spinach is not cooked with dal then cook the spinach with a tempering of cumin seeds, asafetida, chilies, ginger, garlic, onion, tomatoes, and spices.

  • Step 3: combine the cooked yellow lentils with spinach. Everything is simmered for a few minutes.

  • Finally, if you wish you can prepare ghee tadka along with red chilies and additional garlic.
