Resizing Music Scores

A lot of scanned in music scores are fairly high resolution, but even then when they are printed, they don't look nice.

IrfanView has the ability to convert these images into high resolution PDFs, by using some clever image enhancement techniques. Of course, this also works for other black and white text documents.

Below are the settings you can use.

In the attachments, you can find the ini file for the Advanced settings screen.

If you're upscaling Musescore images, download the images by using Inspector. Then run the resize using the .ini file below.

After you follow the steps above, you just add the files to the queue and then hit "Start Batch".

After the individual PDFs are created, use the free PDFMerge program to join the PDFs together (see attachments below).

For Musescore, another method is to use Inspector Mobile view (CTRL-SHIFT-I). Change the Dimensions to iPad Pro. Then restart the browser then go back into Inspector Mobile view. As you scroll through the score, the SVG files will be loaded. Save these SVG files. Then in LibreOffice Draw, drag these SVGs to individual pages and convert to PDF.
