Guitar Chord Maker (font)

G'day! : ]

Ever wished you could easily create chords like this, straight from your word processor, just by typing?

Well you can!

Within this archive (attached) resides a really simple guitar font. Actually it's the first ever font I've made :)

It's pretty easy to use. Only the following keys work, the rest produce pretty much nothing:

# Print out guitar lines

x Print an "x" indicating that the string should not be played

o Open string

1 First fret

2 Second fret

3 Third Fret

4 Fourth Fret

5 And whaddya know, fifth fret (albeit without the lines!)

Unfortunately, I can't be bothered to include the ability to specify "base" numbers indicating the first fret. I figure it's okay to use another font, or just specify the base when naming the chord.

Examples (simple version):

#x02220 prints out a nice A chord

#x13300 prints out a 7E5 chord (base 7, E chord without third)

More examples

If you have the font installed you'll see the following as chords! Otherwise you'll just see the text representation (which is entirely readable).

Examples (advanced version):

#x 0 3 2 013 013 prints a A(add9) (5th fret) along with alternative notes

It's particularly cool because even if someone else doesn't have the font they'll still be able to read the chords because it'll still show up as numbers.

Feel free to distribute this font in any way, shape or form, charge for it if you want... but make sure that this readme file stays with it. (Won't people be unimpressed if they find out they've bought a font which is freeeee? um yep.)
