The Redbelly Snake's description fits its name; the individual will feature a red belly on the entirety of its ventral side with three pale spots on the nape. The dorsal side varies from a common brown to a more uncommon gray or black. Four stripes may be present, but faded on dorsal side. On rare occasions, the belly may differ from the usual red color, varying to blue, orange, or pale yellow.
