Spring Peeper
Range and Protected Areas
The Spring Peeper is present throughout the Eastern section of the United States to the Great
Plains. The animal is found in wooded areas especially near breeding pools. Eggs and larvae develop in small temporary or permanent ponds, marshes, ditches, and swamps. Major threats to the species include wetland drainage, urbanization, and intense agricultural practices. The IUCN lists this species as Least Concern
Upland Chorus Frog - P. feriarum - Three lines on the back will be present but broken
Western Chorus Frog - P. triseriata - Three lines on the back will be present and mostly continuous.
