Eastern River Snake
Adult Size: 45.7 - 66cm
Record: 96.5
An extremely slim snake, the Eastern Ribbon Snake will have three bright stripes against a dark body - typically black with the stripes being yellow, but sometimes ranging from orange to green. In some cases a double row is present between stripes when the skin is stretched out, but typically the three lines are the telling sign. The snake may also feature parietal spots on the head that do not touch. The snake is semi-aquatic and fairly skittish (Conant and Collins 321-322)
