Mystery Artifact

First semester Sixth Graders looked at David Macaulay's book "Motel of the Mysteries". After viewing Macaulay's humorous take on an archeological dig of the future, students looked around their houses for 'artifacts' to draw with careful illustration. They then imagined they were future architects discovering their item for the first time and discerning its use. They used creative language to invent stories for their "Mystery Artifacts".
