Brush Painting Landscapes

Tying into their history curriculum on Ancient China, Sixth Graders learned the art of Brush Painting, one of the oldest continuous artistic practices. Students designed and made their own brushes and practiced the exercise of 'wandering while lying down'- stuck at home, they imagined a faraway beautiful place in nature. After a meditation on this landscape, they painted using ink (or coffee!).
