Peacocks for Diwali

Diwali is the Indian festival of lights, usually lasting five days and celebrated during the Hindu Lunisolar month Kartika. One of the most popular festivals of Hinduism, Diwali symbolizes the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance".The peacock is an important symbol in Hinduism and is the national bird of India. Decorative images and ornaments of peacocks at Diwali are signs of good luck and prosperity.

Second graders made their own Peacock Diyas to celebrate Diwali.
