It has been an another amazing year for the Serra Creative Writing Club. In the later half of March, in collaboration with the Serra Library Services, we had the honor of hosting Randy Ribay as a guest speaker, the renowned author of Patron Saints of Nothing and Everything We Never Had, in the Stinson Center. Tens of students had the opportunity to hear his intricate process of developing novels and how to remain inspired as an author. In addition, our club has hosted its first writing competition, the 2025 Creative Writing Club Short Story Contest. The prompt was what is an unwritten rule at Serra that everyone knows, but no one talks about? The contest was very fun for the club to plan and host and we hope in the future that similar events can inspire more Padres to join the club. Likewise, we have included the winning submission by Max Kantor and Nikko Stokes and their fascinating anecdote of the value of Padre brotherhood in not only the classroom but also the sports fields. In addition, Raul has continued to add another chapter to his Lovebirds Unite series that intricately details the daily interactions of both Bex and Tommy and their firm relationship due to these small, life moments. Raul, your commitment to Lovebirds Unite is unbreakable and I hope to see the story expand in the fall! Also, I have written a psychological thriller called 404 Error: person not found that is a tale of a teenage boy that goes missing one day during high school. However, when the father is searching for him, the dad finds something he would have never expected. This story will leave you on your feet by the end of it so please take a look! That's it for now. Have a great summer and be on the lookout for what we have planned for next year!

“With three seconds left, up one against SI, no one is yelling as loud as possible, to distract the straight shooter on St. Ignatius. He drills the three, Serra loses. . .”
“It’s like we’re on top of the world, just us on the tallest mountain and we get to be the greatest people on Earth.”
“Two men dressed in camouflage pants and black balaclavas jumped down and one elbow-striked me in the face. My face flew to the side as my body crashed to the ground like a fallen tree.”
