Taigen's Work

From Chapter 17- 100% Pure Venom

The Atamape people lived in the Southwestern region of Andeidra, off the coast from which they frequently cast their nets into, searching for food. The position by the sea was prized, in part because the actual hospitable land (which was not cliffside or otherwise rocky) was sparse and occupied by other tribes, who maintained a tense proximity to one another.

That was, however, until two hundred years ago, when the forefather, Chief Atamape, arrived at the coast with his wife. His legend described the fang he was given by the wolf from the darkness of the moon, how he fashioned it to an arrow and approached the largest established tribe in the area. When their warriors rose to fight him, he drew the arrow back and shot it directly into the heart of the strongest man who opposed him. As the warrior fell, every other man, woman, and child of the village dropped dead. Their bodies turned to ash and drifted along the wind to the sea. When the Atamape people cast their nets into that sea, they were saving the souls of those who had died long ago. Chief Atamape, in this same legend, proclaimed after their defeat: “There is no such thing as peace.”

This was the village that Sonsee-array and her younger brother, Dasodaha, grew up in.

Gabriel's Work

It was completely dark but for a few street lights and the glow from inside the old building I walked up to the abandoned church building. Poor thing was nearly rotten away. I heard a voice come in through the ear piece I was wearing.

“Hey Tiny you there.” It said. It was Jane an associate of mine, she’s a good friend first met when we were both about ten I think, been almost nine maybe eight years since then.

“Yeah I’m here.” I said.

“You think you can do it solo?” She asked.

“Yeah I can do it solo.”

“Will you need to, you know. Use Shay?”

“Probably not, I can take three White Church Regulars no prob.”

“Alright stay safe. See you back at the designated safe spot.” She said.

“No problem Jane.” I said. Jane wasn’t usually this nervous, but then again she wasn’t out here fighting. A first for her, and something she didn’t enjoy.

I now stood at the decayed church door. I felt the hand gun I had holstered, I kept it there just in case. I felt the small book in my pocket.

“Just in case.” I promised myself. I looked down at my hands. I breathed in and out. Relaxing myself. Then my hands muscles tensed, they turned a into a dark black shadow like form, my fingers became like talons. I felt a shadow cover my face, covering me. Nobody could recognize me now.
