Filtering Landscape
Prarthna Shah
The GIDC Sarigam region is surrounded by industries and hence has toxicity in its environment. There is no shade due to tress available on roads and in the overall region for people to rest and hangout. The human interaction on roads and public spaces is very limited here, due to the heat generated as a result of the factories. The smell of the chemicals is very prominent. How can the region be developed, enhancing the ecology of the region and also providing the locals with a resting space?

DESIGN IDEA
The idea behind design is to purify the waste water, and also provide the locals of the region with a resting space along with an canteen/eatery. The space is designed to different experiences at different levels using ramps, and the canteen plays with shade and shadow throughout the day. The purification of the water happens at 4 stages with the help of Bioswales.
