Skills Canada is challenging students to come up with creative ways to do the ordinary. This challenge is all about using your imagination to creatively recycle materials to make a bird feeder. If you want to participate, the deadline for the competition is May 22, 2020. Read on for more rules and the official statement from Skills Canada. And if you participate, please send me a photo of your bird feeder as well! mdeleeuw@sd61.bc.ca
Have stuff laying around the house that you could upcycle and get creative? We have a challenge for you! Make a bird feeder out of various household items, scraps and toys and put it to work in the outdoors! This is a creative activity and submissions do not have to involve woodworking or any advanced design - but can if you so desire.
This competition will have two categories: K-Grade 8 and Grades 9-12. Competitors must be students currently enrolled in B.C.
Steps to Enter:
1. Take a photo that includes you during the construction of your feeder
2. Take a close up photo of the finished product
3. Send both photos via email to info@skillscanada.bc.ca or via direct message to one of our social media accounts: Facebook, Instagram (Skills.BC), or Twitter (@SkillsBC), no later than Friday, 22 May at 12:00pm.
4. Please submit grade and school details with your photos.
5. Be as creative as you want with items found around the house; extra points for design and style!
The deadline to enter is 22 May at 12:00 pm.
The winners of each level will be announced on 24 May and each will receive a $25 gift card!
Note: Photos must be appropriate for all audiences.
