Gather equipment and ingredients.
Grate the apple.
Mix dry ingredients in large bowl and add apple. Mix liquids in separate bowl.
Add liquid to dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
Let stand while preheating griddle or fry pan.
Add the oil to the pan just before frying.
Make 12 cm circles of the batter.
Fry until you see bubbles on top and edges appear dry.
