Welcome to the woodshop! Well, not really. It's pretty tricky to teach you how to use power tools and such over the interweb. But I do want to give you some ideas of things that you can work on over the next few months. Some of these will be projects to research, simple skills to work on, and fun things to make. I'll try to throw a variety of activities up here for you to suit yourself. And even if you aren't able to use the bandsaw or router table in the LMS shop, there are millions of videos you can watch online to see how others are using power tools these days, and you can always geek out on Japanese joinery, C is for conifers, or other cool how-to videos. To really immerse yourself in this online learning, you'll have to remind yourself, from time to time, about how good the woodshop smells, the feel of the backsaw in your hand, and the sound of me calling "Clean up" at the end of every class. That'll make this a more virtual reality for all...
I've put some assignments up for you to check out. Just click on the links under the woodworking tab above or click on the links below.
I hope you enjoy and learn from all of these activities. And if you'd like to get in touch with me for any reason, please do.
