Using your phone or tablet, take 3 digital photos that are good representations of the one point perspective principle. Please only go outside if it is safe to do so and you have permission, keep in mind social distancing and general street safety. You can also take photos of the interior of your house that show one point perspective. If you can’t go outside or your house is not something you are wanting to photograph, find an example in a movie or video game and take a photo of the paused screen. See some examples below:
One point perspective is the first step to understanding perspective, but in fact there are always going to be many more objects and more complex points of view in any kind of landscape, cityscape, or interior. Two point perspective follows all the same principles that you have been taught, the difference is (as its name would suggest) that there are TWO vanishing points instead of one. The idea here is that instead of looking down a street, bridge, or railroad track and seeing objects directly in front of you appear smaller, you are standing and looking at a corner and therefore can see the objects towards the left and right appear smaller. See some examples below:
Perspective is something to consider with anything we view. Try creating a 3D scene using LEGO or Minecraft (or similar toys/games) that will also show one or two point perspective. Send a photo or screenshot of the game.
