Most poems use very descriptive language, and are able to "paint a picture in your head" as you read them. The challenge is to choose one of the three poems below and draw a picture or illustration for it. Think about words that stand out, specific descriptions, and overall mood of the poem.
Think about colour choice, is there a colour that suits the mood of the poem better than another colour?
Think about use of lines, should the lines be delicate and soft or more aggressive and dark?
Think about if you could do a more abstract image or a more representaional image.
Or, simply free draw as you read the poem - don't overthink it.
Try all three!
Please email me any work you do, include the name of the poem you chose. Mrs. S abradley@sd61.bc.ca
