Hey Everyone!
This feels strange to spend the spring of 2020 teaching you all in this way. No "pinky questions" to make me smile. No random stories or songs that get us all off task. No moments where everything just seems to line up and we make some amazing, unexpected music. We might not have that, but we will still make this work.
Is it weird? A little. Would I rather be at school looking you in the eye? Without a doubt. Do I miss you all? Yes.
Let's try this music exploratory thing a little differently. I am going to try and keep updating things here so you can pick and choose what you want to work on. New ideas will come up each week and some new videos and songs will get posted below as well. Just because you didn't do exploratory this year or a certain type of music exploratory doesn't mean you can't pick what you want from here. Let's have some fun!
Please drop me a line anytime and check in. Some of you used to drop in my class at recess to hang out. Don't think for a second my "door" is closed. Drop me an email anytime and I'll do my best to get back to you! ngeorgesen@sd61learn.ca
Take care everyone and we'll be in touch! - Mr. G.
For those with wifi and a device, there are a number of projects available. Chrome Music Lab, SoundTrap and more!
We all have "instruments" at home, even if they weren't intended to be instruments. Buckets, bowls, spoons and more!
If you don't know Daft Punk, you should! They are an electronic music group that has been around for some time but keep putting together some great music. Here are 3 versions of "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger"... check out the one on the right! 48 musicians (mostly TROMBONES!) coming together to play!
