Students with severe multiple impairment (SMI) meet the criteria for two or more of six categorical areas.

• Deaf or Hard of Hearing

• Physically Impaired

• Developmental Cognitive Disability (Severe/Profound)

• Blind-Visually Impaired

• Emotional or Behavioral Disorders

• Autism Spectrum Disorders
