CIMP IFSP Evaluation Rubrics

Resource by the St. Croix River Education District

What is CIMP? It refers to MDE's Continuous Improvement Process. On a scheduled cycle, MDE contacts a district, picks student files, trains the district to self-audit using MDE's rubrics, and allows the district to take corrective action. After this, MDE reviews the same files for noncompliance. If citations occur, MDE may order the district to follow a formal corrective action plan, which can result in additional paperwork in the future for district staff.

Why do we CIMP? Districts that continuously self-monitor and submit an annual continuous improvement plan can extend the gaps between official MDE compliance monitoring.
