Stoßtruppen
Stormtroopers, or Sturmtruppen, were one of the earliest types of modern shock infantry. They were trained to do many forms of infiltration tactics. Stormtroopers were handpicked, meaning the men in the Stormtrooper units were some of the very best. They were also the most heavily equipped with harsh training specializing in close quarters combat, making them one of the most feared and toughest troops on the battlefield. Stormtroopers were sometimes called the Kaiser's Elite (Emperor’s Elite). Stormtroopers were very aggressive and effective, being able to overwhelm and take allied trenches with ease. Many Stormtroopers were also combat veterans, having experience with raiding trenches. Unlike the ordinary infantry, Stormtroopers were treated with utmost respect, able to have plentiful rations and comfortable living conditions. Stormtroopers also traveled by truck in order to save their energy for combat. They rarely or never manned trenches, going back to the rear lines the moment their missions were completed. Once Stormtroopers were back at the rear lines, they would be training rigorously to always be in peak physical shape. Although Stormtroopers were tough, they would suffer huge casualties from assaulting enemy trenches, making them only to be used when they are most needed. Before going out to battle, Stormtroopers would be given very detailed briefings on where to assault the enemy trenches, in order to break their lines. By 1918, around 30 German divisions had established stormtrooper battalions, with the Navy also joining in on forming these shock troops.
In sports, the final four are the last four teams standing in a playoff tournament. Generally, the final four compete in the two games of a single-elimination tournament's semi- final round. The two teams who win in the semi-final round will play another single-elimination game whose winner ...
... is the tournament champion. Though, in some tournaments, the two teams that lose in the semi-final round compete for third in a consolation game, a single match to decide who would be finishing 3rd and 4th place. The oldest and most common use of the term is in the final four teams in the annual NCAA basketball tournaments, where each Final Four team is the champion from one of four regions of the tournament. These regional champions then travel from the four separate sites of their regional rounds to a common venue for the Final Four. A team must advance through multiple rounds of play, usually winning four consecutive games in a field of 64 or 68 teams to be certified for the Final Four. These four teams are then competing against each other on the last weekend of the tournament. The Final Four of the men's Division I tournament is traditionally held on Saturdays, and the women's Division I tournament on Fridays. The NCAA also uses the reference "Final Four" for other sports besides basketball, such as men's and women's volleyball championships. For ice hockey tournaments, the NCAA uses the term "Frozen Four".
Functions of The Strangest Theropod Unguals
The dinosaurs known as Maniraptorans, which are associated with birds, mostly utilized their hands for gripping and flying. Early-branching Maniraptorans had amazing claws with an unknown purpose. Alvarezsauroids possessed short, powerful arms and hands with a sturdy finger that functioned like a rock pick. Therizinosaurians had long, elongated fingers with unguals that occasionally measured more than one meter in length.
Here, researchers create a comprehensive scientific framework to explore the purposes and formation of these most peculiar bony claws. Shape and size impacts in an evaluation of function and evolution, our methodology also uses a newly developed functional-space analysis and finite element analysis. Researchers reject the hypothesis that Alvarezsauridea’s unguals are functional vestigial structures like the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
Scientists’ knowledge of these dinosaurs have drastically changed due to well-preserved fossils. Late derived Maniraptoran are related to modern-day birds. While early derived Maniraptorans have strange morphological structure and are occupied in unknown niches. Dinosaurs in alvarezsauridae and therizinosauria, their functional and behavioral hypotheses are based on morphological evidence and analysis of the skulls, lower jaws and hips. Earlier studies address their strange forelimbs, size compared to body dimension, anatomies, morphological evolution and functional simulations using finite-element analysis. Today, scientists better understood therizinosaurians dinosaurs.
Therizinosaurians hypothesized that they were gigantic bipedal, ground sloth-like herbivorous animals. The most notable elongated sickle-like unguals that evolved in late-branching individuals were most suited for hook-and-pull occupations, which involve wrapping the claw tip around and behind an object, eventually pulling, and maybe breaking tree branches. Yet, most palaeobiological ideas concerning late-branching alvarezsauroids' solely working finger ungual are based on anatomical and morphological study, with little quantitative data.
Theories contend that late-branching Alvarezsauroids were insectivorous and forelimb hook-and-pull or scratch diggers, as evidenced by their miniature size and highly specialized manus; however, another theory contends that they were egg-eaters with specialized unguals that removed egg shells. Early-branching-therizinosaurus, such as Alxasaurus, Erliansaurus, and Falcarius, performed well in piercing and pulling, implying that grasping and pulling at vegetation and branches, or grabbing prey. Late Cretaceous therizinosaurian, Therizinosaurus demonstrated that its sickle-like unguals threatened structural collapse. The sole earlier investigation on the biomechanics of therizinosaurian unguals found that the sickle-like unguals of Therizinosaurus had the weakest functional performance.
Spring is coming! Spring begins on March 21st and ends on June 21st. Spring is the season after winter and before summer. During spring, there is better sunlight, the temperature increases, and days are longer. Plants begin to grow again after a cold winter. The weather is starting to get warmer. Animals wake up from hibernation. During this time, you can go outside to the park. The air is fresh and flowers are blooming. Spring symbolizes a fresh start and everything begins to change. There are some holidays that happen at spring time: St. Patrick’s Day, Easter Day, Earth Day, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day. In school, spring break happens from April 8th to April 14th. Enjoy your spring break!
"For you, a thousand times" is the most famous line in The Kite Runner. This book has left a very deep impression on me, so today, I wrote an article specifically for this book. I think in this article, we can understand this convergence of family, friendship, and redemption in a masterpiece.
Afghan-American author Khaled Hosseini writes The Kite Runner. Set against the backdrop of the chaotic politics of Afghanistan, the book tells the story of Amir, a Pashtun teenager from the wealthy district of Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, and his childhood friend, Hassan, his father's Azara servant.
The most famous line in The Kite Runner was initially said by Hassan, who chased the kite for Amir, and even more so for Amir, who repeatedly put himself in harm's way. Amir chose to stand by when Hassan was in danger and when Hassan was seriously injured, Amir often felt torn inside. Because of this matter, he in order to get rid of this feeling of separation in the heart, distanced Hassan, but at the same time hoped that his father would dismiss them. His father did not want to, so he tried to make his father agree by slandering Hassan steal, know all this Hassan, choose in the case of their own did not admit the matter. Amir's father forgave him, but Hassan and Rashin Khan still chose to. After that, Amir every time he recalled that day to Hassan's back, there are countless regrets and guilt in his heart.
Later, years passed and Amir returned to Afghanistan, where he learned that Hassan was his half-brother and was shot to keep Amir's house from being invaded. Amir from the beginning for the past to cover up and resistance gradually understand or redeem their own hearts, after he saved Hassan's son, in the end, he was the initial Hassan, for Hassan's son said the long-established "for you, a thousand times".
The kite is used throughout the book, and it has many symbolic meanings. The kite is a metaphor for the state of life of freedom, self-reproach, and expectation of fatherly love. The kite is also a metaphor for the human traits of selfishness, cowardice, and betrayal. This book is a powerful portrayal of friendship, redemption, and the relationship between father and son, and is a rare masterpiece.
""The Kite Runner" ranked second on Amazon's literary bestseller list at the end of March in the United States, surpassing "The Da Vinci Code", and became the best book of 2005 in the British "Observer", Taiwan Eslite Bookstore, Golden Bookstore Shitang and Blog came to the bookstore sales champion.
The 2006 preferred book by the French Reading Club, the best novel of the year voted by readers of the French "ELLE" magazine, and the book selected by the American Library Association. In 2007, director Mark Foster made it into a film of the same name, and the film was nominated for the best soundtrack at the 80th Oscar."
The First Working Telephone
Background
The first working telephone was invented by Graham Bell in 1876, although Graham Bell was not the first to have the idea of a talking telegraph, he was given credit because he created the most successful and practical version of the telephone.
Other’s ideas
An Italian immigrant, Antonio Meucci, developed the first design of a telephone in 1849. However, his design was ignored in 1871 when he announced it. Furthermore, Elisha Gray, a professor at Oberlin College, applied to make an announcement for the telephone on the same day as Graham Bell. It was their lawyer that went to the Patent Office, and reports say that Bell’s lawyer arrived at the office first before Meucci’s lawyer, so Graham Bell was awarded to be the first with the invention of a telephone.
Graham Bell
Alexander Graham Bell was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on March 3rd, 1847. Bell’s father was a professor of speech elocution at a university. His mother, despite being deaf, was an accomplished pianist. Alexander was a curious boy who studied from his mother, and tried inventing new things. Both his brothers would pass away by the time Bell was in his early twenties. Bell’s education consisted of being homeschooled, and although he didn’t excel academically, he was a problem solver. At the age of 16 he began studying the mechanics of speech. He would soon move to Canada but settled in the United States. Bell had opened a school of Vocal Physiology and Mechanics of Speech in Boston, where deaf people were taught to speak. He would also meet Mabel Hubbard, a deaf student. The couple married on July 11, 1877. They then went to have four children, two of which died as infants. Soon in 1871 Bell started working on harmonic telegraph, a device that allowed multiple messages to be transmitted over a wire at the same time, while trying to perfect this technology, became interested in finding a way to transmit human voice over wires.
