When is your birthday? Mrs. Whiffin's birthday is on December 27th.
Do you have any kids? If so, what are the names and ages? Mrs. Whiffin has 2 kids. Her son Axl is 5 and her daughter, Sloane is 2!
Were you a teacher before becoming an assistant principal? Mrs. Whiffin was an ELA teacher before she became an assistant principal!
How was your teaching experience? Mrs. Whiffin absolutely loved teaching and she misses it. She tried to make teaching and learning as fun as possible for her students! She still tries to keep in touch with some of her students from a few years ago.
Do you have any surprises for the 8th grade for the end of the year? Mrs. Whiffin is currently in the process of planning the prom, the senior BBQ, and graduation! And she is hoping to have an amazing time with some surprises. If she told us, then it wouldn't be a surprise!
If you could add any sport or club to Pershing, what would it be and why? Mrs. Whiffin has always wanted to bring track to Pershing (we had it one year and then COVID happened). In high school, Mrs. Whiffin was the captain of the swim team and she'd love a swim team as well (but not realistic).
What is the proudest moment of your career? Mrs. Whiffin always feels proud when she get emails from students that she had taught years ago who say they are going to college/grad school because they want to be a teacher like her. She loves making an impact on students' lives.
Which three words would you use to describe Pershing? Family. Fun. Home.
What is one message you would like to tell the graduating class today? "This 8th grade class is super resilient. Entering middle school was not the ideal situation and you all have persevered and are becoming lovely young adults. I have seen some of you at your lows and I have seen some of you at your highs and you are able to overcome any situation gracefully and respectfully. You are able to explain how you feel in a mature manner and you are very strong-willed. I have seen and appreciate how loyal you are to your friends and I know many of your friendships will last a lifetime, don't let them go to the waste side because of silly situations." ~ Mrs.Whffin :)
