Hi! Hello! My name is Chuheng Wen and I am from 804. I came to John J. Pershing during quarantine (2020) and was a part of class 600. Next year, I’ll be going to Brooklyn Tech and will be attempting to take all possible history classes and electives (if possible). Along with that, I hope to use as much of my summer as possible, learning as much as possible. My favorite moments of this year, in general, is being part of Pershing’s Debate Team; through the four tournaments this year, the moments I shared with my teammates and the opponents I faced in these tournaments were my favorite experiences (both experiences being something I’ll miss but certainly will experience again in the future, if I get into Tech’s debate team). If I had to recall my absolute favorite moment, it would be playing “smash karts” with an opponent I had defeated after a debate round. However, besides Debate, and directly inside of Newspaper Club, I’d say my favorite moment would be hanging out with Jacky from 802; occasionally we’d even play Geoguessr and miserably fail trying to do so.
Hello, I'm Ely from 804.
This year I'm going to FDR High School, which is honestly pretty disappointing. I was wishing to get into any high school EXCEPT FDR. But of course the universe isn't on my side and I got zoned. I don't understand how I even got zoned, especially when I don't even live close to FDR, but when I'm a freshman I will do my best to transfer to a new school. (No hate on FDR😉)
I mean, at least some of my friends will be there so it can't really be that bad right?
Anyways, my favorite moment of this year would be Six Flags. I was convinced to ride “Superman” and it was honestly the best suggestion. It wasn't as scary as I expected and I enjoyed every minute of it, but I don't think some of my friends thought the same, considering how they were screaming and praying like it was their last minutes on Earth.
At the end of the day, everyone had fun so it doesn't really matter. I also enjoyed my time on the ferris wheel; they stopped it from moving when me and my friends were on the very top, and it started raining. This ofcourse, caused us started screaming since it was pretty cold considering we got hit by both wind & rain. Our backs were soaked and one of my friend’s cap flew. We tried to look for it by going on the ferris wheel again, since we're able to look from a bird’s eye view but we had no luck. (We got hit by rain again.)
I am looking forward to doing more self care, hanging out with friends over the summer, and just relaxing overall during the break. I don't have the best grades, but I will continue to work hard to avoid failing.
I'm mostly going to spend my summer break playing with friends and exploring new things!
I'm excited to go into freshman year, but I'm worried about others considering some people aren't the brightest. Overall, I will try my best to survive the freshman year that the future has set for me. (Praying rn)
About me
I am Erin Zhang and I'm 14 years old. I have 3 siblings, and I enjoy hanging out with them. I like to eat many things, but my favorites are sushi and dumplings. My favorite fruit is strawberries, and my favorite color is pink. This year my favorite memories have been hanging out with my friends because they make school so much more fun and less stressful. The teachers I have had this year have been amazing. I started middle school not knowing anyone and I am now leaving middle school knowing many great and amazing people. I wish everyone going into high school to have an amazing four years.
Hello! My name is Haoyu Chen. I’m from class 804 and I’m taking regents!! This year went by really fast and there were a lot of twists and turns. It was an emotional rollercoaster, but I pulled through and I made it into a specialized high school, Brooklyn Tech. As bad as this year was, in the end I'm pretty happy with where I’m at and the people I’m with. My favorite part of the year was Six Flags and I enjoyed it a lot. My favorite ride I went on was probably Harleyquinn Train. For my high school plans, I plan to be an overachiever and try getting all the AP classes I can get and also probably get a high score on the SAT. Something interesting about myself is I’m into aquascaping, which is making nice planted fish tanks. I like keeping fish (clearly) and currently own a community tank. I’m 14 years old since my birthday was June 13 and I’m personally extremely happy with the end of our school year.
