Adding Parents and/or Legal Guardians to the IEP

Adding the Parent here, will add them to the dropdown menu when filling No Parent Infoout the Notice of Case Conference.

You will use this portion to add any case conference members who do not have access to the IIEP system.


Click Add new Parent/Guardian to add a person to the list.

  • You should add each parent separately. If parents have joint custody, be sure to check Legal Guardian for each. Adding them separately will also allow you to monitor who has attended the IEP meeting by designating each parent separately.

  • At least one entry must be designated as Legal Guardian. You may have more than one Legal Guardian.

  • If the student is 18 years or older, and is emancipated (or is an emancipated minor), you will need to add the student here, and check the box for "Legal Guardian"

  • If you do not check at least one person as Legal Guardian, you will not be able to create the Final IEP.

  • If you see a blue flower, you MUST enter information. If you see a blue question mark, it is optional.

  • Whichever address you check for "Student lives here" is the address that will print out on the IEP.

Adding a General Ed Teacher or Administrator

Add Gen Ed teacher here to show as part of team

  • Won't give teacher access to the system

  • Will show up in the drop down as part of the IEP team.

  • No need to add any information other than Full Name and Relationship.

  • Uncheck "Student Lives Here" (comes up automatically on every entry)

  • Do not add Special Ed teachers here, or anyone who has an account in the IIEP system. They will be added under the "Team" menu.

  • Add your Building Principal/Assistant Principal here. Make sure you designate them as "Public Agency Representative"

  • You may also add any outside therapists, counsellors, agency representatives or other relatives here. Designate these people as "Non Public School Representatives" or "Other".

  • When you are done, click Update the Database

To delete a name from the list, check the DEL checkbox, and then click Update the Database at the bottom.

To change a name or other information, click Details on the right side.

Move a name up or down the list by numbering the rows in the Pos box.
