You can download free to use audio tracks from YouTube Audio Library.
Step one: find a track that suits your project.
Effect: Audio Spectrum.
Drag your audio file into your layers panel.
To animate an audio bar in beat with your music, create a solid colour.
Add effect: Audio Spectrum to the layer.

Tweek the start frequency (lower, around 2), and the end frequency (around 250). You can tweak these based off your audio bar.
Tweek the max height for bars, thickness, softness and hue interpolation for colour shifts
Display options include Digita, Line and Dots, and you can choose to show sides A, B or Both.
The settings to the left will give you this effect below:
To animate text or an object to the beat of your music, you will need to separate your audio dimensions:
Right click audio layer> Keyframe Assist> Convert Audio to Keyframes
You will create an audio amplitude layer, with keyframes for every audio frequency.
To animate the scale of your object to the keyframes, option/alt click the stop watch for [A]udio.
Using the pick whip under your audio expression, drag to the audio amplitude chanel slider.
Using the Text tool, write out a word. Select a bold font.
Right click your text layer> Create> Create shapes from text.
On your shape layer, open contents> add effect> Trim Paths
Under Trim Paths, set keyframes for start and end, and animate key frames for Offset.
ADDING GLOW EFFECT
In Effects and Presets, type Glow.
Drag the glow effect to your text shape layer.
Explore settings for glow- guide below.
To reveal text successfully, you need to select an appropriate font.
Make sure your font is not too complex, and try to avoid too many overlapping ligatures
Using the Pen tool, trace the strokes in the direction and order the text would be written. Your completed path creates a 'mask'. Tap 'M' On the layer to reveal your masks.
Add a 'stroke' effect to the mask, change your stroke thickness, and colour, then record stopwatch for start and end to reveal path.
In the stroke effect settings, set paint style to 'reveal original image'.
