Think Pair Share:
What is Victore really saying in this demonstration about how to approach design and creativity generally?
Do you like it? why or why not?
Do you think you could do this type of creative design work?
Find a creative quote from Victore? Compare your selections and why have you made the selections?
So where does this design attitude come from? Let's investigate some cleaver creatives and design movements that made us view the world and design differently, that have made and left a 'mark'.
Activity 2: Research one of the following creatives or topics and provide a key image and brief analysis on your journal? First let's look at a few of them together!
(James Victore, Stefan Sagmiester, David Carson, Nick McFarlane, Banksy, Shepard Fairey, Paula Scher, Aie Wei Wei, Marian Bantjes, Social Cause, Authentic Design, Grunge Design, Punk Design, Jamie Reid)
Refine your explorations in Activity 2 to generate a graphic for your FolioZine.
Note the class activities are explorations to provide collateral or insights to generate a final graphic.
MILESTONES:
Write a 150 word Biography. (Milestone week 1)
Record your findings and reflections on your journal/google site. (Milestone week 1)
- Consider elements and principles of design (colour, shape, line, texture, form, repetition, emphasis, scale etc.)
- Page layout and information heirachy - direct the eye through the artwork through your flow of information.
- Semiotics - what symbols you use to represent yourself.
- Must include your name - Explore typography ( You can add any of your mark making scans from yesterdays class).
- You may choose to include your face, but the challenge is to capture your story and identity through images.
- Fill the page!
We will present our posters to the class afterwards, and get to know each other a little better!
