What makes them stand out on the shelf?
What elements are present?
What principles are used?
What does the design say about the product? (is there relevance to the history or message?)
We will be exploring some lino cutting in week 6 on campus. To prepare for this, you must create a series (3 - 6 designs) of small illustrated shapes and motifs.
Consider what you have discovered in your exploration of common elements and principles used in craft beer designs. Consider your target audience. See if you can create a cohesive collection of items that are easy enough to carve out.
Document your process and designs in your journal and present your deigns at the end of class.
Today you will research Craft Beer packaging design and a practitioner gaining an insight into the context, style and philosophy behind the industry. You will then be generating your own Craft Beer packaging design series.
