Strong Journal Entry Examples:

• Robotics 1 - 

  • Today I learned that if I don't line up Albert's golf club in the exact same spot that it was when I first coded it, that the code won't be successful.  It is important to line up the pieces in the same exact spot. 

• Digital Video Editing

  • Today I got to step 3 and learned how to add a few transitions, audio and trim the clips.

  • Today I learned how to key out the color on my podcast recording and I added some photos on the timeline above my recording. 

• SketchUp - 

  • Today I struggled to draw the chimney initially but I asked Mrs. Adorno and I now understand the 3 planes that have to pay attention to to build Up, out and across. 

  • Today I had some trouble making the handle on my mug.  Placing a rectangle on a round surface meant I had to make it narrower.

• Flight Technology - 

  • Today we learned about the 4 forces of flight and how each of them help the plane fly.  Lift, drag, weight, and thrust!

  • Today I enjoyed learning about how the shape of the airfoil  helps the plane fly. That is something I hadn't thought of before.

• Audio Production - 

  • Today we spent time figuring out our  microphone because the sound wasn't coming out. We asked our teacher to help us and adjust settings to get it to work. 

  • Today we worked on  adding patterns and beats to our audio to make our recordings more interesting.

• Graphics & Animation

  • I learned how to group items on Adobe express which helped me move more than 1 part at a time without changing how they are spread out.

  • Today I created a book character using AI and found out that the more information I give the prompt the more accurate my character came out.

• TinkerCad - 

  • Today I learned how to add a plane to my project to help the next piece know where to go.

  • Today I learned how to use the alignment tool to align my pieces in more than 1 direction.

• Electricity & Electronics - 

  • In project 13, we learned that we can use a switch button to open a pathway that sends less electricity into the light and more into the fan which made it spin faster. This meant that the light didn't get enough power to light.

  • Today we learned how to use a multimeter and tested a 9V battery only to find out that it wasn't new because it read only 5.26 volts. 

• Virtual Architecture - 

  • Today we learned how to double click on the cabinet to adjust the cabinet height up to the ceiling and bring up the bottom up so the backsplash was higher.

  • Today Albert didn't do what we wanted him to do. 

• Robotics 2 - 

  • Finished lesson 3 and got dash to recycle!

  • I got stuck on the challenge card but finished the code.

  • I made dash spin forever.

  • We were surprised that our tape folded properly.

  • We learned how to code the drone.

• TinkerCad - 

  • Today I learned how to make a man.

  • We are happy we finished activity 5.

• Virtual Architecture - 

  • Today we finished the kitchen.

• Computer Science - 

  • There was a glitch on the computer.

• Electricity and Electronics - 

  • I finished activity 1 in electricity.

• Graphics & Animation - 

  • Today I made a monster.
